Wow! Where do I even begin? I guess by saying, I adore this collection and loved Flora's story! Freedom: Flora is the highly anticipated sequel to Escape, Michaels' first riveting release in the Vampire Blood Courtesans Kindle Worlds Collection. I LOVED the first book and was more than a little eager to read the second, and Michaels didn't disappoint! I've been a Michaels fan for several years and literally devour everything she writes. No, really.... I rush to Amazon to purchase her books as soon as a preorder is available. It doesn't even matter what it's about; I want it! I love her work so much, I'd probably pay to read her shopping list! lol... Well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration but I think you know what I mean. I'm 65 years young and Michaels is one of the authors I still go all fangirl over... and Michelle Fox is another. Yup, I'm also a diehard Michelle Fox fan and adore her work as well so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered these two very talented word slingers would be working together. Squeeee! I've been following Fox's Vampire Blood Courtesans since the release of Reborn: Myra, the inspiration for the series and first story in this spellbinding multi-author collaboration. All the books in the series are either full-length novels or novellas and can be read as standalones in any order but I highly recommend at least reading the first book which lays the groundwork for the entire Vampire Blood Courtesans World. However, several of the stories do have sequels.
I adore stories featuring anything paranormal or supernatural and have been completely smitten with sexy vampires since I read Bram Stoker's Dracula fifty years ago, but give me a combination of both generously seasoned with danger, drama, suspense, humor, witty banter, malevolent enemies, handsome brooding vampires, beautiful plucky heroines and steamy romance, and I'm in heaven! And that's exactly what Michaels has delivered with Flora's story! Escape is an exciting, fast-paced, highly imaginative, exceptionally well-crafted and edited paranormal tale filled to the brim with heart-stopping danger, heartbreaking drama, spine-tingling suspense, heart-pounding action, heinous villains, evil machinations, heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance, supernatural creatures, and, of course, sexy vampires. Hubba! Hubba! This story has it all! The narrative is beautifully written in the first person with his and her perspectives. The dialogue is smart, witty, well-executed, at times humorous, and flows beautifully. But without a doubt, my favorite and the most notable component of all Michales' stories is always the cast of fascinating characters. I was instantly smitten with the two protagonists of this story, beautiful nineteen-year-old non-shifting human/wolf hybrid Flora MacNaughtonand dark handsome brooding vampire Maxwell Steele. The lovely longsuffering Flora was brave, clever, quick-witted, sassy, and determined but very much a Scottish country lass whose only respite was working with horses and more at home in the stables than in the city. Maxwell was a dark brooding hero resentful of being turned into a vampire yet he was also intelligent, confident, assertive, powerful, and wealthy. Max was no longer the proud Scot he had been born but had now taken a new name along with his new identity as an American. Although Flora and Maxwell were both born in Scotland and both had horrible fathers, these two characters could not have been more different, yet complemented each other perfectly. Their attraction was immediate, their interaction electric and their passion...undeniable. And their sexual chemistry was so hot it sizzled! Quite often, I found myself laughing at the cheeky banter between these two characters. I was instantly smitten with both protagonists but, oh my goodness, Flora was a real hoot! It was beyond entertaining. I was totally mesmerized. I laughed, I cheered, and I cried as my heart broke for Flora... and loved every single minute! This story is relatively short, actually novella length coming in at approximately 108 pages, but it's mighty and packs quite a punch. In my experience, when a book is not a full-length novel, sometimes the characters feel underdeveloped and the story seems rushed, but this is never the case with Michaels' books. She is a truly gifted storyteller with a boundless imagination and an abundance of talent. She excels at creating detailed and beautifully depicted worlds populated with fascinating, colorful characters. I'm always impressed by the craftsmanship of Michaels' books. They're always exceptionally well-crafted and edited with beautiful covers. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some steamy, dreamy love scenes. Escape can be read as a standalone novella length paranormal romance released as part of Michelle Fox's Vampire Blood Courtesans Kindle Worlds Collection and does include a wonderful happy-for-now ending but you can read more about Flora and Maxwell in the sequel, Freedom, releasing January 24, 2017. And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I've read most of the books in this collection and loved them all. The Vampire Blood Courtesans Kindle Worlds Collection is a fascinating world originally created by Michelle Fox that is sure to captivate and entertain you! Fabulous entertainment and awesome read!

Freedom is book two for Flora and Max Steele, aka Mr. Sexypants, in the Blood Courtesans book series. Flora feels more alive now that she is dead than when she was alive. She can't get enough of Max and he loves spoiling her. Things are going great till Max receives a phone call from Graham. Things back in Scotland needs Max's and Flora's attention immediately! Sadness beckons them back, but with it comes peace for Flora. An emotional read! Overwhelming love! Power embraced! An absolute wonderful paranormal romance you come to aspect and crave from the Blood Courtesans authors.
I read A Vampire ‘s Thirst Victor and I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it. Turned around and read it again. I went looking for more books by this author and read Escape and Freedom. I love the characters in these books. Each with their unique sometimes humorous characters. I love Max and Flora together. The love , romance and humor. I have found an author that weaves magical stories that I enjoy so much. I was sad when the story ended I was so engrossed in this story. I need more of these books! I know I will read these stories again and again even though I have a library full of unread books. I am hooked on this author and her stories I can’t put down.
I loved reading Max and Flora’s story in “Escape” their first book, then just had to follow up with this one “Freedom” to see how they were getting along. Flora and Max have been enjoying their new life together since he turned her. She is learning how to control her new powers that are intensified not only because he’s an ancient but also because she is part werewolf which also adds to her strengths.They are called back to Scotland where their story first began and Flora has a chance to face her demons from her past and finally get closure. I very much enjoyed both these books! And the chemistry between these two are not only sizzling hot and steamy but you’ll be laughing one minute and tearing up the next! This book is a must read along with the first one! Love this author!
Max and Flora are in NY planing on visiting friends when they receive a call about trouble at home. The trouble is heartbreaking and they plan to deal with it right away.
I really enjoyed this book. It was great to see Flora get some closure that she needed. I hope there are more tales from the Blood Courtesans world soon.
Flora and Max are back! Another fantastic trip into the Blood Courtesans world with a healthy heap of Scottish flair!!!
Flora is still a newbie at the vampire life. She forgets her own strength, her senses and emotions can get away from her. But one thing keeps her centred, her devotion to Max. But whilst in New York they get a horrific call from his staff back in Scotland. Flora's former pack are encroaching on his lands and they have now left a trail of dead bodies!
On their return to Scotland, Flora realises that the gruesome finds were meant to rattle her and they succeeded! Her blood is boiling at the thought of revenge but can Max keep her safe whilst her heart calls for blood??
I love the whole Blood Courtesans series but Flora is my favourite (yes because she's Scottish - I'll admit I'm biased!!!) I had tears in my eyes and a lump in my threat several times. I also felt my own bloodlust creeping in anytime Donald was mentioned!!!
I'm glad that Flora was given some closure at the way her former pack had treated her. Max was so good at keeping her check and not letting her fly off the handle. Kind of sad now that she and Max have got an Eternally Happy Ever After...what happens now!!! Kick butt characters, tight snappy storyline and romance to scorch your eyeballs!!!
